East Living has recently celebrated the completion of refurbishment works at our historic building on Balaam Street in Plaistow. Previously this building was the head office for one of the companies which now make up the Group. It has now been reopened as Liberty House, a scheme for women with mental health support needs. It is now open and fully operational and all ten one-bedroom flats have been allocated to residents from another mental health scheme.
At the official opening Chris Woodhead, assistant director care and support services for East Living, said: “I am convinced that the new residents will be very happy here, so much so that they will not want to leave the place. This is the challenge when we have accommodation that is of such high quality but is only temporary accommodation. We need to go a step further and ensure our permanent housing schemes match the high quality we see here today.”
