Board Members

Like many other charitable organisations, we have a voluntary Board. Board members are unpaid people who help to provide strategic guidance to the organisation and its policies.

Linda Perham JP, BA, HonFCILP, MCLIP, FRSA
Chair, East Living, appointed 2006
Linda was appointed Chair of East Living in 2006. She is also chair of the Thames Water Trust Fund and is a member of the Consumer Council for Water London and the South East. A former Mayor and Councillor at London Borough of Redbridge, Linda is also a Justice of the Peace and Director at TrustMark. As Chair of East Living, Linda also sits on the Group Board.

Miranda Coates MA (Oxon), MCMI
Vice Chair, appointed 2007
Miranda is Managing Consultant of the Amalfi Partnership, specialising in training and management development in the public and voluntary sectors. She is also a Trustee of the Richard Cloudesley’s Charitable Trust.

Chander Hingorani ACIS
Treasurer, appointed 2006
Chander is a retired Financial Controller for the National Federation of Retail Newsagents. He has previously worked in the Middle East and Africa. He is now focused on the Health and Housing sectors and is involved in the proposed merger of three London Hospitals: St Mary’s, Hammersmith and Imperial College. Chander is also a non-executive Director of a publishing company.

Ajibola Awogboro BSc (Hons), MA, MBA
Independent Member, appointed 2006
Ajibola has had a varied career including currently being the Head of Contracts and Commissioning within Greenwich Council Adults Directorate. He was formerly the Non-Acute Commissioning Manager for Greenwich Teaching Primary Care Trust; a former Joint Commissioning Team Manager for Camden Primary Care Trust and Camden Social Services Department and Performance and Standards Manager for Hackney Council Social Services Department.

Catherine Harris
Independent Member, appointed 2008
Catherine is a local councillor in Haringey, chairs Haringey’s Carers Partnership Board and is a Local Commissioner of the Mental Health Act Commission. She sits on the Care Quality Commission's national Mental Health Improvement Board.

Rohan Hewavisenti MEng, ACA
Independent Member, appointed 2007
Rohan is Director of Finance and Business Development with the British Red Cross. He previously worked for Breast Cancer Care, ActionAid and VSO. He is also a trustee of Charity Finance Directors’ Group and on the management committee of Charity Investors’ Group.

Mike Howes
Independent Member, appointed 2007
Mike is currently employed by Harrow with responsibility for managing Harrow Strategic Partnership. He also has responsibility for corporate planning for the authority and linking planning with the budget development process. He is also the corporate lead for equalities for the Council. He is a former employee of Tower Hamlets Council where he was, among other posts, Head of Community Partnerships.

Alison Rosen BA, MA, PhD, MBA
Independent Member, appointed 2006
Alison is a retired consultant psychologist in Learning Disabilities at North East London Mental Health Trust and Consultant Psychologist at Redbridge Health Care. She also had various academic and research posts at the University of London and University of Manchester.

Ron Wallace BA, Bphil
Independent Member, appointed 2004
Ron is retired and is the former Head of Mental Health Commissioning at City and Hackney Primary Care Trust. He was also Executive Director and Director of Social Services, London Borough of Waltham Forest.
