East Living provides an extensive range of services including floating support, supported living, registered care and housing management.

Who We Support

We provide homes and support to people with:

Learning Disability

People with a learning disability can access supported housing, floating support and registered care through East Living. All our schemes, from Stratford to Braintree, are respected for the high standard of 'exemplary' support they provide.

Mental Health

We provides support for 150 people with mental health needs. Residents are encouraged to live the lives they want to. We provide modern and flexible services

Older People

Our services include both sheltered housing and extra care in modern self contained units. Sheltered housing provides tenants with a safe, supported living environment in which they are able to maintain their independence.

Other Groups

Other Groups that we support include;

• Women who experience domestic violence and their children
• People living with HIV/Aids
• Young people leaving care
• Asylum seekers

Services We Offer

Floating Support

Floating Support is the name given to housing related support services that help people to manage their lives and stay in their own homes. In some cases Floating Support will help people to find alternative homes.

It can offer a short-term flexible service, which “floats off” once agreed aims have been achieved. This usually takes between three months and two years. Following this some people may need support to ‘float back’ at a lesser or more intense rate. Groups that Floating Support can offer appropriate support to include;

Supported Living

Supported Living describes our floating support, temporary accommodation and supported housing services. Theses services aim to meet the diverse needs of our customers.
We provide support for:
• Older people
• People with mental health needs
• People who have a learning disability
• Women who experience domestic violence and their children
• People living with HIV/Aids
• Young people leaving care
• Asylum seekers

Registered Care

Registered care homes provide; accommodation, meals and personal care (such as help with washing and eating). Registered Care Homes provide 24 hour staffing to meet people’s care and support needs and ensure that that they are safe and lead fulfilling lives with the highest possible level of independence.

Domiciliary Care

Domiciliary Care is the name given to a range of support services offered to people living in their own homes. The service could be personal care such as feeding and bathing or home care such as preparation of meals and shopping. Domiciliary Care offers appropriate support when;

• Returning from hospital or waiting admission to hospital
• Temporary or permanent illness
• Loss of confidence in managing daily tasks
• A fall at home

Housing Management

Our housing management services help potential residents to gain access to our housing. Once housed we offer assistance to ensure residents understand the legal obligations of living in an East Living property and help them to meet these obligations so that they can keep their homes.

Some of the areas that we offer assistance in are;
• Tenancies (assured, secure and licences)
• Housing management (allocations, good practice, dealing with rent arrears)
• Disrepair (definition, legal remedies)
• Anti-social behaviour (definition, mediation, legal remedies).
• Ensuring property meets Decent Homes Standard
• Possession proceedings (serving notice, type of notice served, outcomes)
